Free Technician License Class Starts Feb 7th

The Union County Amateur Radio Club is putting on an Amateur Radio Technician License Class starting Feb 7th 2018. This 6 week long class will be Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. The class will begin Feb 7th at the the Union County Services Building, 940 London Ave. Marysville, Ohio 43040   The class, testing session, and study guide are free. The class will be using the W8PEN Tech Study Guide, which is available as a PDF from the link below.

The FCC Technician License exam covers basic regulations, operating practices and electronics theory, with a focus on VHF and UHF applications. Morse code is not required for this license. With a Technician Class license, you will have all ham radio privileges above 30 MHz. These privileges include the very popular 2-meter band. Many Technician licensees enjoy using small (2 meter) hand-held radios to stay in touch with other hams in their area. Additional information about the technician license can be found http://www.arrl.org/getting-your-technician-license.

There will also be a testing session held following the class. The testing session will be an opportunity for anyone to take the the Technician license exam or upgrade their current license to a General class license or Extra class license. The date and time of the test session will be announced at a later time.

Please email techclass@ohiohams.net to register for the class or request additional information about the class.
